Elizabeth Schmidt, from Kosciusko County, recently competed in the 4-H rabbit show at the Indiana State Fair, considered one of the largest rabbit shows in the country.

She won Reserve Best in Show, typically referred to as reserve grand champion, at the two-day event, with her Champagne D’Argent senior doe.

She also won Reserve Champion 6-Class; Best of Breed and Best Opposite with her Champagnes; Best Opposite with her Dutch and multiple first-place ribbons.  

Schmidt graduated from Warsaw Community High School this past spring and plans to major in business and finance at St. Andrews University in North Carolina where she received a scholarship to play beach volleyball. She was a four-year varsity starter for the Tigers; and an academic All-American as a junior and senior.
