Altrusa International of Warsaw Inc. initiated three new members at their meeting on Thursday.

Amy Troyer, Lorie Krygier and Bonita Kellem were received into membership in a ceremony conducted by their sponsors Julie Hall and Mary Garrett, according to a provided news release.

In addition, the club achieved the Distinguished Club distinction for the third straight year from Altrusa International for 2020-21 fiscal year ending May 31 under the direction of immediate past president Vicky Patterson.  Club members also achieved the Distinguished Club distinction in 2018-19 under the leadership of then president Beverly Faulkner and in 2009-10 when Vicki Martin led the group.

Members are finalizing plans for the upcoming bingo for Beaman Home scheduled for Oct. 21 at Winona Heritage Room in Winona Lake. This event is the club’s largest service project with all proceeds benefiting the programs and services of the Beaman Home. Altrusa founded the Beaman Home in 1985.

The club’s next meeting will be Sept. 5 at noon at the KREMC building, 370 S. CR 250E, Warsaw.  

Anyone interested in serving the community is encouraged to attend to learn more about the local Altrusa Club.
