Kolanowski fills the role vacated by Joel Grindle, who has transitioned to the role of head boys basketball coach and teacher at Plymouth High School, according to a news release from Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation.
Kolanowski continued her postsecondary education, earning a Bachelor of Science in elementary education at Indiana University-Fort Wayne, Master of Education at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion and earning her licensure/credentials for an Indiana administrative license in administration from Ball State University. She also received a teaching certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Kolanowski served the last 17 years at Warsaw Community Schools in roles that included being a third-grade teacher at Silver Lake Elementary, summer math teacher at Warsaw Community High School, middle school math teacher at Edgewood and Lakeview middle schools, business and English learners teacher at Lakeview Middle School with her latest role as attendance coordinator at WCHS.
Kolanowski said she is looking forward to serving in a position that complements her leadership skills and dedication to education, as well as provide the opportunity to utilize her passion for student achievement.
TVHS Principal Brandon Kresca said, “Mrs. Kolanowski is a leader who places the absolute highest priority on building relationships and caring for people. The very second that teachers at TVHS met Mrs. K, they knew she had to be a part of our team. She is about kids and will do whatever is best for our students and our school. I personally look forward to the opportunity to get the school year going and to be able to witness the impact that Mrs. Kolanowski will have on the community.”
