These Are The Times ...

While our capital is shrouded with fencing and concertina wire, populated with enough National Guard troops to become a percentage of the Washington, D.C., population, I give pause, I wonder why. The present government seems to hasten their efforts to push through very unpopular legislation. Actually, every one of the three major legislative bills proposed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have a 70% disapproval rating with the American public. So what are they up to? Why try to force through legislation that is so unpopular with American citizens ... hence the fences, concertina wire and military presence.
It is hard to visualize how great civilizations fell victim to tyrannical governments. Well, we all have a ringside seat. It is happening right before our eyes and, frankly, I don’t see much concern. If this is our response to letting our government strip us of our rights, our religion, all the freedoms we’ve taken for granted, then I guess this is what we deserve. Actually, we are one vote away from one-party rule. The Senate filibuster rule, which requires a 60 vote majority to pass non-financial legislation, is the only line in the sand preventing our present representative republic from become something in vogue like Communism!
I’m sure you ask yourself, what can I do? First, we need to call our elected officials and demand their opposition to negating the filibuster rule. Then call Sen. Manchen (D) of West Virginia and Sen. Sienama (D) of Arizona and give them your support for holding the line against the radical socialists on the left who are salivating at the prospect of their total rule in perpetuity.
It hasn’t been since Gen. George Washington rolled the dice and spun the Revolutionary War on its head with his crossing of the Delaware River in the dead of winter that we as a nation have been closer to losing our God-given rights than we are right now. In the immortal words of Thomas Paine, “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country but he who stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and women.”
