Warsaw Golfers Compete At Dicken Invitational

Westfield Green captured the team trophy placing its scoring foursome among the top six finishers with 301 strokes, and individual scores ranging from 73 to 77 strokes on the par-71, 6,856-yard course. The Shamrocks’ flaunted their depth as Westfield Gold finished sixth overall with 330 strokes.
The team scores among second through fourth place team finishes were much closer among Penn (316), Valparaiso (320), and Kokomo (324).
Kokomo’s Brandon Hansen shot a one-over par 72 to capture medalist honors.
Warsaw Black’s individual finishes included Ben Brander (78 – 9th place), Aiden Bowell (81 – 18th), Tucker Carlile (82 – 21st), Jack Yeager (87 – 37th), and Seth Hildebrand (89 – 43rd).
Warsaw Orange’s individual finishes included Will Hall (86 – 35th place), Lewis Turley (88 – 40th), Jaxson Gould (90 – 44th), Austin Craig (92 – 50th), and Dylan Barkey (100 – 60th).
Triton’s quintet was comprised of the individual efforts among Cole McKinney (82 – 24th), John Gardner (89 – 42nd), Breylon Wareham (92 – 51st), Chandler Westafer (100 – 61st), and Gavin Butler (103 – 64th).
The Tigers travel to Chestnut Hills Thursday for a 5:00 p.m. tee time against the Homestead Spartans.
Triton tracksters take part in HNAC meet
CULVER - The Triton Trojans girls’ and boys’ track teams took part in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference triangular meet with different outcomes last Thursday. The girls scored 72 team points to edge Winamac (65) and Culver Community (23), while the boys were sandwiched between Winamac (123) and Culver Community (19) with 36 team points.
Triton’s girls used a few athletes whose versatility resulted in crucial points for the team’s victory.
Abbey Viers (high jump 4’4”, discus 98’11”), Anela Hill (100 hurdles 18.4 sec. and 300 hurdles 56.37 sec.) and Faulkner (1600m 6:01, ling jump 14’7.5”) picked up double wins for the Trojans girls’ team. Other blue-ribbon winners were Anela Hill (100 hurdles 18.4 sec.), Addison Viers (shot put 36’5”) and Makenna May (pole vault 8’6”). The Trojans’ 400-meter relay team took first in 1:00.69.
Each Viers sister added a second place in the throws (Abbey, the shot put 31’0” and Addison, the discus 85’3”). Hill also took third in the high jump at 4’4” in a tiebreaker based on misses. May finished a close second in the 300 hurdles (56.48 sec.). Faulkner added second place finishes in the 800 meters (2:45.13) and the pole vault to accompany her double win.
Anthony Schuh (100m 11.9 sec.) and Parker Alford (high jump 5’4”) finished the evening with blue ribbons. Hunter McIntyre’s 17’7” long jump, and Trace Schuh’s 39’3” throw in the shot put earned second place points for Triton.
