BOURBON – David Franklin Holderman passed from nearly 83 years of time into eternity and the loving welcome of Jesus Christ, at 3:51 p.m. on Sunday April 11, 2021, in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Leaving behind a temporary quantity of years, he stepped into an eternal quality of life.

David is survived by his sister, Phyllis Holderman, Etna Green; his sons, Rolf (Lisa) Holderman, Silver Lake; Ray (Karen) Holderman, Etna Green; David (Laura) Holderman, Columbia, Tenn.; and Dan (Vickie) Holderman, Warsaw.

David was also grandfather to six grandchildren: (Robert) Kristie Drew, Racine, Wis.; Nicole Holderman (Chris Cotgrove), Sugar Hill, Ga.; Brian Holderman, Houston, Texas; Justin (Erin) Holderman, Rossville, Ga.; (Josh) Kara Merrill, Spring Hill, Tenn.; and (Sam) Kathrene Snyder, Chattanooga, Tenn.

He was great-grandfather to Holly Holderman, Fairborn Ohio; Tyler Neff, Bourbon; Bo and Brice Neff, Racine Wis.; Bella Drew, Racine Wis.; Asher, Thaddeus and Malachi Merrill, Spring Hill, Tenn.; and Aiden Munro, Sugar Hill, Ga.; and great-great-grandchild, Mason Holderman, Fairborn, Ohio.

David was born July 17, 1938, in Plymouth, to parents Nicholas and Katie Wyman Holderman. He grew up in Etna Green.

He served in the U.S. Army for six years.

Friends may gather to share memories with David’s family Monday, April 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 8 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.

In keeping with current COVID-19 regulations, “masks are required while in the funeral home,” as well as being mindful of social distancing during the visitation time and funeral service.

The family wishes to thank friends and the community for their support during this difficult time.
