By Staff Report-
Avid horse lovers, Jean and Jim share a lifetime of adventures horseback riding and owning their own horses. After not owning horses for several years, Jean and Jim decided that they wanted to get “back in the saddle”. A phone call to the Magical Meadows by their son, Steve Reed, made that dream come true in August.
As the Magical Meadows staff started the Rise Up Campaign in September, they received a call from Jean Northenor that resulted in with a much needed hay barn. After meeting with Jean and Jim, they gifted the Magical Meadows with a $25,000 check to build the Northenor Hay Barn. This will provide a means to keep hay clean and dry, eliminating waste and maintaining the nutritional value of the hay. The horses provide services to more than 150 children and adults with developmental, cognitive and emotional disabilities.
The Rise Up campaign continues through the month of September, Adams said.
“We still have a way to go to reach our goal of $75,000”
