SYRACUSE – Peggy Sue Kitson, 84, of Warsaw, and formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 6:28 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw.

She was born on July 4, 1936, in Ridgeville, Ind., to William Lafayette and Bessie Marie Runyon Elliott. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1951 from Fort Wayne and attended Syracuse High School. She was married on June 18, 1955, in Syracuse, to Raymond G. “Gene” Kitson, who preceded her on Dec. 13, 2018.

She formerly worked at Thornburg Drugs in Syracuse, Wawasee Community School Corporation as the librarian at Syracuse Junior High School, and she was a paraprofessional for Milford and North Webster elementary schools. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, former member of the Bunko Club in Syracuse and lived in Syracuse until she moved to Warsaw in December 2017.

She is survived by twin daughters: Mary Kitson, of Syracuse; and Marie (Barb Boyd) Kitson, of St. Marys, Ga.; son, Alan (Penny) Kitson, of Warsaw; two grandchildren: Alicia (Randy) Catron, of Syracuse; and Heather (Josh) Tooley, of Warsaw; two stepgrandchildren, Rachel (Paul) Wagner, of Franklin; and Zac (Sue Warner)?Dawson, of Crystal Lake; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters: Joan Hastings, Betty Sypers and Teena Shannon; and three brothers: Hank, Bill and Thomas Elliott.

Visitations will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home, with Pastors Scott Halterman and John Schrock officiating. Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
