Historical 'Did You Know?' Cruise Planned For Lake Wawasee Oct. 10; Tickets $25

SYRACUSE – The Oakwood Foundation Chautauqua-Wawasee group has asked local historians to share their knowledge of Lake Wawasee for a two-hour cruise.

Ann Garceau of the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum and Erin Lomax of the Smithsonian Institute will share their knowledge of what’s in the depths of Lake Wawasee from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 during a “Lake Wawasee - Did You Know? - Cruise.” The duo will share stories based on research about cars, boats, coins and other relics known to have been lost, found or submerged in the waters of Indiana’s largest natural lake.

Advanced tickets are required and cost is $25 per person. They can be purchased at www.ChautauquaWawasee.org or on the group’s Facebook page. Boarding begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Frog Tavern in Syracuse. Face masks are required.
