Warsaw Man Arrested On Child Molesting Charges

A 19-year-old man is facing child molesting charges after an alleged sexual rendezvous with a child younger than 14 in a minivan.

Sidney Raymond Ousley, 19, of 2411 W. CR 250S, Lot 136, Warsaw, and also showing an address in Rochester, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday and faces two charges for child molesting, one a Level 3 felony and one a Level 4 felony.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Sept. 10 in Kosciusko Superior Court I, at 9:49 p.m. April 27 Warsaw police responded to a residence in reference to a child who had left the home without permission to take the dog on a walk and could not be found.

Upon arrival, the parents told police that the girl had asked to take the dog on a walk at 9:30 p.m. and they told her no. However, the girl left with the dog anyway, and she could not be found. Police and family began searching for the girl, and a family member was able to find her.

When police spoke to the girl, she told them she was just walking the dog, so police left, according to court papers.

A short time later, the mother called police back to the home and said she had found sexually charged conversations on the girl’s cell phone between the girl and Ousley. Ousley allegedly used to date the victim’s older sibling, according to the affidavit.

When police reviewed the messages, it became clear that the two had planned to meet up in the area for a sexual encounter.

According to the affidavit, the girl told police she met Ousley in a nearby area and got into his minivan where they had sex.

Police tried to located Ousley with no success at first. However, Ousley had apparently told friends and a friend of his grandmother’s that he had sex with the child.

When police spoke with the grandmother, according to court papers, the grandmother asked why the police wanted to talk to Ousley and if it was “about that rape charge.”

Eventually, Warsaw detectives were able to reach Ousley by phone and had arranged for several interviews with him, but Ousley never showed up.

His bond was set at $200,250, and a no-contact order was issued.
