A march from Plymouth to Warsaw is being planned for Saturday by a local group, Voices Against Injustice.

Marcel Jones organized the group and the march that will begin at 9 a.m. at River Park Square in Plymouth. The marchers plan to arrive at Center Lake in Warsaw between 4 or 5 p.m., he said, where they’ll be greeted with an after-party.

Jones said the march was inspired from the group who marched through Warsaw on Aug. 12 on their way to Washington, D.C. That group from Milwaukee was led by Frank Sensabaugh, also known as Frank Nitty. Nitty, along with two others from the group, were arrested by Indiana State Police along U.S. 30 near Pierceton after they were told to move over to the side of the road and failed to comply, according to police.

Nitty insisted the group was in compliance with the rules of the road for peaceful protesters and were not obstructing traffic. Regardless, Nitty, Tory Lowe and Eric Ajala were all booked in the Kosciusko County Jail that night for misdemeanor charges of obstructing traffic and disorderly conduct.

Warrants are now out for all three’s arrest after they failed to appear for a court hearing.

Jones said his Saturday march plans to be similar to the group led by Nitty but on a smaller scale. On a flyer publicizing the Saturday march, it says, “The walkers from Milwaukee were met (with) resistance. From Plymouth to Warsaw, let’s show that intolerance has no home here!”

Jones said this march is a peaceful and all-inclusive event, and cyclists are welcome.

“We just want to show that our job as marchers, we’re not gonna reply, we’re gonna stay silent, we’re gonna keep moving forward,” Jones said.
