A Silver Lake man is accused of stalking violations after repeatedly posting nude photos of a woman on social media accounts.

Jody Lynn Gilbert, 49, of 606 E. Sycamore St., Silver Lake, and also showing an address in Churubusco, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 3:42 p.m. Sunday and faces charges for stalking, a Level 6 felony; and five Class A misdemeanor charges for distribution of an intimate image.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Friday in Kosciusko Superior Court I, on Feb. 14 a woman went to the Warsaw Police Department to make a report of nude images of her being posted online by Gilbert, her ex-boyfriend.

The woman told police that after she and Gilbert broke up, Gilbert would repeatedly ask the woman for nude images. When the woman would decline, according to court papers, Gilbert would send nude images of himself to the woman.

Shortly thereafter, according to the affidavit, nude images of the woman appeared on Gilbert’s Instagram account. The woman contacted Instagram, and the photos were taken down and the account was disabled.

According to court papers, police subpoenaed records from Facebook regarding the Instagram account in question and discovered Gilbert had used his phone number to create six different accounts where he posted nude images of the woman and/or videos of sexual intercourse between the two.

The woman told police that she began to fear for her life and went as far as installing a home security system at her residence, according to the affidavit.

Gilbert’s bond was set at $5,250, and a no-contact order was issued.
