To the residents of Kosciusko County:

I have been a resident of Kosciusko County for 65 years, living near Warsaw and raised in Silver Lake. Many of you know me as a retired educator proudly associated with Warsaw Community Schools. This letter is to communicate my support for a forward-thinking individual in our county’s commissioner race.

Our county needs leadership that has fresh views, views that touch the lives of all residents of our community and based on their needs, not on the “Good Old Boys” needs. The fresh start begins by voting for Travis McConnell. I’ve been fortunate to know Travis through the Morning Optimist Club in Warsaw over the past five years. We also both serve on the club’s Board of Directors. Through watching and listening to Travis, I have come to know him as an individual who is not just concerned about others, but is willing to step up to do something about those concerns.

Travis’ experience as an attorney began by graduating from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. As his experience grew, so did his desire to always be relatable and accessible to his clients. These two essential traits will continue after he becomes a commissioner for our county. He will be accessible to all residents, willing to listen to concerns and willing to work together to accomplish solutions to those concerns.

Travis moved to Kosciusko County after working as an attorney in Florida and marrying one of my former students, Sara. They moved to Warsaw knowing that this community is perfect for raising their two children. Travis opened his law office and immediately became involved in the community by serving on the board as well as becoming the president of the board for the Beaman Home, our local shelter for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. He has also been involved as a board member of Gradway, the organization working to increase graduation rates in all of the high schools of our county.

Travis is running for the Middle District seat, but we all can vote for him in the election. He will represent everyone. He is a champion of all the residents of K County and will address the needs of the residents of all 17 townships. He needs your vote in order to accomplish change for everyone. His website is WeTrustTravis.com. He wants to hear from YOU.

Travis understands that the dialogue among all the communities within our county must be improved. His being fluent in Spanish will definitely assist his accomplishing the communication with our Hispanic community. He is a man I trust; I trust him to be the right man for the job as commissioner of Kosciusko County.
