Sen. Young Announces DOT To Award Over $40M For 34 Hoosier Airports

Among those airports receiving grants are the Evansville Regional Airport, which will receive $2,188,911 for taxiway rehabilitation and improvements to the terminal building, and the Virgil I Grissom Municipal Airport in Bedford, which will receive $1,437,450 for taxiway construction.
“Securing the funding to build and upgrade Indiana’s infrastructure has always been a major priority of mine,” said Young. “These grants will enable 34 Hoosier airports to modernize, create jobs and invest in their future.”
In addition to Evansville and Bedford, airports in the following cities will receive DOT funding: Anderson, Auburn, Bloomington, Columbus, Danville, Frankfort, French Lick, Greensburg, Griffith, Huntington, Indianapolis, Kentland, La Porte, Lafayette, Logansport, Madison, McCordsville, Michigan City, Monticello, New Castle, Paoli, Portland, Rensselaer, Rochester, Salem, Seymour, South Bend, Sullivan, Tell City, Terre Haute, Valparaiso and Warsaw.
Warsaw will receive $1,927,524 to rehabilitate its 18/36 runway at the municipal airport.
