Clifford ‘Cliff’ Prater

Cliff was born Nov. 26, 1943, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Virgile “Press” and Pearlie Adams Prater.
He was born and raised in Kentucky, moving to Warsaw in 1960. Cliff had a passion for household auctions and enjoyed gardening. He was employed at Rozella Ford, Holiday Inn and was a security guard for 26 years for Dalton Foundry.
Cliff is survived by children, Dana Shell, Warsaw; Dan (Chih Kai Yang) Spangle, of Honolulu, Hawaii; sisters, Juanita Shepherd, Genevia Bayne, Phyllis (Greg) Varney, Mary Prater, Barbara (Darrell) Prater, all of Warsaw; brothers, Ronald Prater, Warsaw; Arnold (Amy) Prater, of Silver Lake. In addition, he is survived by sister-in-law, Judy Prater; lifelong friend, Alan Heeter; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one nephew.
A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. Rev. Bob Brown will be officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required. The public is kindly requested to provide their own. Social distancing is strongly encouraged.
