I have known Travis McConnell since he moved back to Warsaw five years ago. He is a friend, I have used his firm in the past, he sat on my board of directors when I served as the executive director of a local nonprofit, and we have served on several boards and committees together.

Through five years working side-by-side in many areas with Travis, I have seen him consistently care for, listen to and take steps to better our community. Travis is open-minded and always willing to listen, have a conversation, and lean into tough conversations or community issues. He doesn’t just talk. He actively gets involved and makes a difference. This is evident in his time serving with the Sheriff’s Merit Board, Gradway, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, One Warsaw, Young Adult Professionals and the Beaman Home – and these are just the things I can think off the top of my head.

I am voting for Travis McConnell for county commissioner – middle district because I value multiple perspectives being heard when decisions are made, and I think he brings a new, fresh perspective to our community.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
