NOTICE OF HEARING

ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES

    Property owners, rate payers and other interested parties in, served by or to be served by the City of Warsaw Municipal Stormwater Utility that Common Council at a meeting held on October 19, 2020, approved on first reading Ordinance No. 2020-10-02, which would amend certain of the rates and charges for services rendered by the Stormwater Utility. At a meeting of the Common Council to be held at 7:00 p.m. (Warsaw time) on November 2, 2020, in the Warsaw City Hall, 102 S Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana, 46580 there will be a public hearing on the matter of the rates and charges, and consideration of adoption of said Ordinance No. 2020-10-02, which provides in part as follows:

    SECTION 1. Amendment. Section 78-601 of Chapter 78 of the City Code of the City is hereby amended to read as follows:

    Section 78-601 Charges Levied.  (IC 36-9-23-25).

    Stormwater Rates.

    Until later revised or amended, the Stormwater Utility shall charge rates due and payable as hereinafter provided and shall be in an amount, per calendar month, as follows:

    Residential owners shall be charged both one base rate and one variable rate per each and every residential unit on the property.

    Non-residential owners shall pay one base rate per sanitary utility tap (minimum of one (1) per contiguous set of real estate parcels), combined with the variable rate for their actual impervious surface on the parcel(s).  Calculations of ERUs will be rounded to the nearest whole number with the minimum number set at one (1) ERU.

    At such hearing and prior to final adoption of said Ordinance, all interested parties may appear and be heard. A copy of Ordinance No. 2020-10-02 may be examined at the office of the Clerk-Treasurer, City Hall, 102 South Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.  The meeting will be held in-person and also streamed live online at warsaw.in.gov/watchcitymeetings.  Comments will be taken in-person and by text message for those who cannot attend.  In order for a text message to be read aloud during the Public Hearing, it must include the full name and address of the sender.  Text messages must be sent to (574) 377-0287 prior to the close of the Public Hearing. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City of Warsaw, should contact the office of Building and Plan, 102 S. Buffalo Street, Warsaw, IN 46580/phone (574) 372-9550, as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
