SYRACUSE – Richard Lloyd "Dick" Tillman, 83, Syracuse and Merritt Island, Fla., died at 6:47 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, at his home in Syracuse.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1936, in Elkhart, to Lloyd E. and Josephine Butler Tillman.

He was married on July 29, 1961, in Elkhart, to Linda J. Lowe, who died Feb. 28, 2017.

He retired in 1979 from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. In 1981, he was appointed the executive director of the International J/24 Class Association. While in the Air Force, Dick was commodore of the International Snipe Class Association and director of the National Governing Body of Sailing.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.

ATWOOD – The congregation at Atwood Otterbein Church will celebrate the 98th anniversary of the building of their church at 306 E. Main St., Atwood, on Sunday at their 9:30 a.m. service. The congregation celebrates its Heritage Day each May.
