Max Ray Wireman, of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct.12, 2020, at his residence at the age of 77.

He was born on Nov. 14, 1942, in Waldo, Ky., one of eight children born to Lillie Mae Williams Wireman and J.B. Wireman. On Sept. 8, 1972, he was married to Anna May Jefferson Wireman, who survives.

Max worked for many years at Clausing Manufacturing in Warsaw and later he worked as a machinist at Zimmer Inc. and retired from there at the age of 55. One of his favorite pastimes was watching women’s college basketball and deer hunting, especially in the Packerton area. He enjoyed hunting so much that over the years he accumulated so many antlers that they were mounted everywhere around the house and even in the shed. Fishing was another favorite of his; he was actually a fisherman when he first met his wife, Anna. His favorite spot to fish was at Snake Island in Winona Lake, and everyone knew he loved to garden as well. Max loved to play with his grandchildren and had a particularly good time whenever he was with Journey and K.P. Throughout his life he experienced some hard times and he shared plenty of good times with his family. Max will be forever missed by his family and many friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Anna May Wireman, Warsaw; son, Dennis Seffens, Warsaw; two daughters: Peggy Manuel, Warsaw; Diane (Jeff) Hatfield, Claypool; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: O’Dell Wireman, Paul (Bert) Wireman, J.B. “Brother” (Myrtle) Wireman, all of Waldo, Ky.; and three sisters: Bernice (Chase) Warrix, Warsaw; Norma Jean (Gordon) Bradley, Warsaw; Karen (Kenny) Hensley, Waldo, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Louise “Bear” Wireman.

Max’s life will be celebrated with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 at Hillcrest Cemetery of Pierceton with Rocky Addair officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
