Center St. To Be Closed At Hickory St. Intersection

October 13, 2020 at 1:48 a.m.

By Staff Report-

Center Street will be closed at the Hickory Street intersection on Wednesday and Thursday.

Indiana Department of Transportation contractors will be installing a manhole and underground pipe as part of the Hickory Street conversion project.

This project will convert Hickory Street to become a one-way street, with traffic flowing north and south from Center Street, according to a news release from the city of Warsaw. Safety medians, curbing, parking changes and additional safety signage and signals will also be added to Hickory Street to improve safety when a train is approaching the area.

The recommended detour is Market Street to Park Avenue. Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and additional travel time.

If work cannot be completed on Wednesday and Thursday, due to weather conditions, this closure will be pushed back to begin on Monday.
