AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley School Board will look at where the school corporation stands with enrollment at its meeting Monday.

During the school board public work session Thursday, Superintendent Blaine Conley said he already sent the numbers to board members. Conley also will provide the number of students who are coming back at the end of the first grading period, he said.

“We do have some kids that are coming back, so that’s a good thing,” Conley said.

“From the stand point of almost having the first quarter completed, we’re off to a good start,” Conley said. “It’s been very hard. It’s been very difficult for the staff. They’re working very hard and I know the students are working very hard. And parents are in there. And we’re all trying to make the best of this situation. Just back in June and July, I didn’t know where we’d be and nobody knew. But I’m very pleased in terms in what we’ve done so far this school year for our kids and our community. I’m excited for the future and I’m proud of the students and the staff.”

An eLearning attendance policy will be one of three policies the school board will be asked to approve during its Monday meeting.

The policy is just for clarification. The policy has been through the legal department, Conley said.

Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation is also updating its sexual harassment and Title IX policies and the board will be asked to approve the updates during its Monday meeting.

The board will be asked to adopt its 2021 budget.

The proposed 2021 budget is $25,564,063. The debt service fund is $2,896,574. The education fund is $13,360,767. The operations fund is $9,306,722.

The board will  be asked to approve two donations. The first is $400 from  Roann First Brethren Church for Boomerang Backpack. The second is for $21,000 from Bib’s Billfold.
