The fee for town residents’ trash pickup will increase from $12 to $15 per month, including recycling. Over the next three years, the fee will increase another 50 cents every July 1. This decision comes after 19 years of no fee increases.
Following a request for funding by the North Manchester Center for History, the council voted to donate $10,000 to the organization. The council will also contribute an additional $5,000 to Imagine One 85, a countywide comprehensive plan initiative, combining with prior contributions for a total of $10,000.
Daniel’s Place, a respite care center, has planned a trunk-or-treat event for Oct. 24. Chloe Steele approached the council members, who approved the event for 3 to 7 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church parking lot.
The opening for a new building commissioner will now be a full-time position. Interested applicants can expect a job listing and description within a week.
The council approved Resolution #7 to utilize remaining CARES Act funding through public safety payroll. The funds will compensate members of the fire and police departments, EMS and dispatchers for their overtime, insurance and wages.
Leaf pick-up will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 16 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 17. Volunteers are needed.
There was a town docket of $636,982.98 and a utilities docket of $153,958.40.
The council will next meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 4.
