He was born on April 4, 1952, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Betty Fields McNees and Moses McNees.
Byron was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. In 1970, he started working at Zimmer Inc. in Warsaw. He proudly worked there for 44 years and at the time of his retirement he was a poly mold operator. Being able to work in a factory for over 40 years is rarer and rarer now days and it showed that he was a hard worker and dedicated. Byron enjoyed his work family and he made many friends there over the years. On his off time, he really enjoyed playing pool, bowling and he was an avid Harley rider. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and his beloved dog Tiny.
He is survived by his daughter, Shanda Myers, Warsaw; three sons: Robert Gross, Willie McNees and Brent McNees, all of Warsaw; and one grandchild, Jachawn Myers, Warsaw. He also leaves behind two brothers: Moses and Tommy McNees; and his sister, Patty McNees, all of Warsaw; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Hall; brother, John McNees; and his niece, Jennifer Rose.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
