By Staff Report-

The Sept. 26 meeting of the American Association of University Women of Warsaw was held in the party room of Richard’s Restaurant.

President Lynn Groff called the meeting to order and Elisa McPherson took roll call.

Jennifer Molinda, president of the Northeast Indiana Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), spoke to the group of STEM programs for girls and young women supported by SWE.  She and other SWE members have spoken to school groups and mentored female engineering students. Molinda works in hip development at Zimmer Biomet.

Groff distributed flyers for the AAUW Indiana fall 2020 Zoom series and encouraged all members to register and attend. Changes proposed by the National AAUW were discussed and all members were urged to vote on the issues and changes presented by the National Board in 2021.

Elisa McPherson read the minutes of the last meeting and Cindy Nolton gave the treasurer’s report and presented the 2020-2021 budget.

Members were thanked for their participation in the group July garage sale. Over $300 was raised for the scholarship fund. Unsold items were donated to the Beaman Home and Our Father’s House.

Future growth of the AAUW group was briefly discussed and members are encouraged  to invite eligible friends and colleagues to join.

Anyone interested in AAUW is invited to attend the Oct. 24 meeting at 9:30 a.m. at Richard’s Restaurant or call Groff at 260-344-1367.  The Annual Silent Auction will be held and it is a good time to pick up some Christmas gifts or something for you.

The meeting adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
