Nappanee Man Facing Bestiality Charge

Kevin Leroy Hochstetler, 40, of 71182 CR 9, Nappanee, was booked in the Elkhart County Jail Tuesday and faces a Level 6 felony animal offense bestiality charge.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Nov. 17 in Elkhart Superior Court 6, on Sept. 5 officers from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office and the Nappanee Police Department were dispatched to a residence in Nappanee regarding a possible burglary.
Upon arrival, police spoke to the homeowner who said he saw a man walking around his property. Police found Hochstetler in the horse barn on the property, naked.
According to court papers, Hochstetler told police he was “committing adultery with a horse,” then proceeded to put his clothes back on.
His bond is pending an initial hearing.
