NORTH WEBSTER – Douglas Raymond “Doug” Long, 72, of North Webster, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1948, in Goshen, to Charles A. and Alice V. Malcolm Long.

He graduated in 1966 from North Webster High School and attended Purdue University in West Lafayette. He was a United States Vietnam Army veteran and a lifetime Syracuse/North Webster area resident. He was married on Sept. 24, 1972, in North Webster, to Delores J. “Dee” Northrup, who survives.

He retired from the RV Industry, where he worked most of his life. He formerly worked at Supreme Corporation in Goshen, Carriage in Millersburg, and Rockwood in Goshen and Millersburg. He was a former member of the V.F.W in Syracuse.

He is survived by five daughters: Sonia (Tony) Hunziker, of Warsaw; Samantha (Mike) Adams, of Leesburg; Tracy (David) Benjamin, of New Carlisle; Lisa (Tyson) Williams, of Warsaw; and Heather (Robert) Gallo, of Kailua, Hawaii; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Suzie (Jim) Mendenhall, of Ocean View, Hawaii; Darlene (Chris) Hill, of Muncie; Carolyn Long, of North Webster; Becky (Steve) Jefferies, of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Rosalyn (Gil) Hodge, of Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Breanna Williams.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. A military service will follow at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22 in the funeral home with family friend, Pastor Michael Philley, officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw.
