Akron Elementary Fifth-Grade Students Engage In Their Community

The fifth-graders sought out residents who needed help cleaning up their yards before winter hits. The students enjoyed the collaborative partnerships of Lowe’s of Warsaw who donated the rakes and supplies for this project and the residents assisted was coordinated by the town of Akron, according to a news release from Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation.
Lowe’s Home Improvement donated rakes along with essential supplies for schools which included hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and Plexiglas. A few of the students joined the trip to pick up the supplies in Warsaw.
This project embodied teaching the importance of giving back to your community while displaying character which aligns with the TVSC’s core values and belief statement that TVSC embraces the core values of collaboration, leadership, character and achievement.
