SYRACUSE – David W. Granger, 71, of Leesburg, went to be with his lord and savior Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, surrounded by loved ones.  

He was born on July 3, 1949, in Brighton, Mich., the son of the late Mary and Pastor Vern Granger. He was the eldest of six siblings.  

On July 29, 1972, he married Diane Gall, who survives.  

A graduate of Prairie Bible College, Alberta, Canada, David studied music theory and youth ministry. He served as a bus driver for Syracuse school corporation for 30 years, retiring in 2017. David was never without a project or adventure to keep him active. A few of his many hobbies were racing, breeding and training sulky horses; a classic car collector and enthusiast, and continuing throughout his life he was an active member of the gospel quartets: The Royal Sons and The Followers.  

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daren and Andrea Granger, of Warsaw; son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Kathleen Granger, of Carmel; grandchildren, Matilda and Magnus Granger, of Warsaw; and Austin and Madelyn Granger, of Carmel; siblings: Diane and husband Richard Cook, of Elkhart; brother, Daniel and wife Jane Granger, of Elkhart; sister, Jeanette and husband Tom Lantz, of Syracuse; brother, John and wife Deb Granger, of Constantine, Mich.; sister, Linda and husband Jeff Kercher, of Goshen; brother, Vern (Bud) and wife Jeanette Granger, of Constantine, Mich.; father-in-law Jim Gall; sister-in-law, Collen and husband Brad Arnsdorf.  

David was preceded in death by his son, Deven D. Granger; mother and father, Vern and Mary Granger; and mother-in-law, Wilma Jean Gall.  

A viewing will be held on Friday, Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m., immediately followed with a graveside committal at the Hepton Union Church, 9266 W. Hepton Union Road, Nappanee. The family has requested respectfully that all in attendance wear a mask.

Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, is handling arrangements.
