The Kosciusko County commissioners recognized her at their meeting Tuesday with a framed certificate.
The certificate states: “Kosciusko County commissioners hereby recognize the achievement of Sandy Sandoval in appreciation for 34 years with KABS and Cardinal Services. On this date, May 26, 2020, we recognize your dedication to excellence in your work and your personal commitment to the well-being of your riders. Congratulations on your retirement from Cardinal Services, and for 34 years of leading by outstanding example.”
In presenting the certificate, Brad Jackson, president of the commissioners, said, “We wanted to recognize you, Sandy. That’s a long time – 34 years.” He asked her if she had “any good stories to share.”
Sandoval said she had a lot of jokes she picked up over the years.
“That is amazing, that is a lot of years to serve,” Jackson continued. “We really appreciate it.”
After the presentation and some photos were taken, he asked her if she had anything she wanted to say.
Sandoval said, “I really enjoyed working with Cardinal for all these years. It’s just kind of a sad time to leave, and it was time to move on because I have loved it. I really loved it.”
Commissioner Cary Groninger told her, “We sure appreciate your years of service. When you work that long, you now you have a heart for what you’re doing, so we really appreciate that.”
