A Warsaw woman is in jail and accused of stealing from her employer.

Jeanine Marie Simison, 36, of 6233 E. CR 300N, Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday and faces a Level 6 felony theft charge.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed April 28 in Kosciusko Superior Court III, on March 26 Warsaw police responded to a theft complaint at Harbor Freight.

Upon arrival, police spoke with Harbor Freight management who said Simison was an employee at the company and was purchasing merchandise from the store and then returning the items for money but not returning the merchandise. The manager also told police she had been cashing out gift cards.

According to court papers, when police questioned Simison about it she admitted she’d been stealing from Harbor Freight since October by purchasing items between $50 and $200 so as not to draw attention to herself. She said she would then return the merchandise for money, but would not return the merchandise.

Harbor Freight Loss Prevention documented the total loss was $3,507.85.

Simison’s bond was set at $3,500.
