He was born on July 9, 1939, to William H. Colgrove Sr. and Grace Turner Colgrove in Bunker Hill.
Rex graduated from Winamac High School in 1957. On March 30, 1977, he married Lorraine Mae Mills. On Feb. 1, 1965, he started working at Miami Cass County REMC. He retired on Jan. 1, 2000, after 35 years of service. Rex also owned the electrical company Colgrove Electric.
Rex is survived by two loving children, Thania Colgrove and spouse Jack Harris, of Warsaw; and Philip Colgrove and spouse Susie Colgrove, of Fulton, Mo. He is also survived by five grandsons and three great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; and his three siblings, Pat Fike, Bill Colgrove and June Geiselman.
He was a member of the Elks and the Eagles.
Per his request, there will be no viewing or funeral service. His burial will be private.
