Warsaw Community Schools Announces New Meals Plan, Adds 10 More Neighborhood Sites Starting Today

Between March 16 and March 20, Warsaw Community Schools’ Food & Nutrition program, in partnership with WCS Transportation department, prepared and delivered over 4,000 meals to seven school locations, including door-to-door deliveries for families unable to drive to one of the site locations.

Because curbside meal pick-up has increased daily and is expected to grow in the coming week, Marci Franks, director of the food & nutrition program, has revised the plan for meal pickup.

Beginning today, in addition to school sites, WCS will add 10 new neighborhood sites. Door-to-door meal delivery is available to families unable to drive to one of the sites, and three dedicated routes have been added for this purpose only, a news release from WCS said. Due to increased requests for door-to-door delivery, new procedures are now in place to expedite the process. Parents or guardians who want door-to-door delivery need to visit www.wcsfoodandnutrition.org for more information and forms. Franks can be reached at [email protected] or by calling 574-371-5086, ext. 5. To see the school meals routes, visit www.warsawschools.org and click on the FAQs tab.
