MARION – Small College Basketball has updated the Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List list, narrowing the squad to just 25 of the best small college players. Junior Kyle Mangas, a Warsaw Community High School alumni,  made the cut for the second straight year, becoming the first Wildcat to dawn his name on the list twice.

This list consists of some of the top players from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA, and NCCAA. 2020 marks the fifth year of the Bevo Francis Award.

Mangas became IWU’s All-Time leading scorer on Feb. 29, collecting his 2,453 point. The junior finished the season with 860 points and 2,479 career points. Mangas averaged 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game, both career-bests. On the season, Mangas collected 11 games with 30 or more points with five of them coming in a row. Nobody in the NAIA this season scored more than 30 points in four consecutive games.

The Wildcats won the Crossroads League regular and post-season tournament titles, and were at the NAIA Division II national tournament when it was cancelled last week. IWU won the title in 2018, Mangas’ freshman year.

Get To Know The Team: Warsaw Captains Q&A
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of going to a Warsaw football practice and speaking with four of the team’s five captains. With so much having been written in recent weeks about their performance on the field, and rightfully so, I wanted to peel back the curtain a bit and ask them some questions about themselves. Each of the four players were asked the same eight questions. Below are each of their answers.

Town of Claypool
