BOURBON – Triton sophomore guard Ashton Oviedo was the Times-Union Athlete of the Week during the final week of boys basketball season. After leading his team in scoring in three sectional games, Oviedo repeats as the winner, this time for the week ending March 7.

Oviedo opened sectional play leading four Trojans in double-figures with 18 points in a 82-34 rout of winless West Central. He followed that up with a 19-point performance in the Trojans’ 55-26 semifinal victory over LaCrosse.

In a low-scoring sectional final, Oviedo scored nine points for Triton, who lost on a buzzer-beater 28-26 to nearby Argos.

Triton finished its season at 14-11.
