‘Requiem For The Living’ Is March 29 At Warsaw PAC

March 11, 2020 at 8:08 p.m.

By Staff Report-

The community is invited to a special performance of “Requiem for the Living” by Dan Forrest at 7 p.m. March 29 at the Warsaw Performing Arts Center.

This work features the Lakeland Community Choir, the Lancer Chorus from Grace College and the Select Chorale from Warsaw Community High School.

Soprano soloist is Cassandra Petrie and tenor soloist is Landon Staley.

This five-movement work is typical of Forrest’s ethereal writing and gorgeous harmonies, according to a news release. The music is “reminiscent in places of a movie score and contains contemplative, lush melodies as well as driving, almost frantic rhythmic figures,” the release states.

The first half of the concert will feature the Lakeland Youth Chorale community children’s choir and the Womens Chorale from WCHS. Instrumentalists from the Symphony of the Lakes comprise the expanded chamber orchestra for the Requiem. This group will also perform several numbers on the first half of the concert.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door with cash, check or credit card. This is the final community choral concert of the season.
