Rummage, Bake Sale Planned March 20-21

Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church will have its spring rummage and bake sale March 20-21.

The sale will be in the church gym from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 20 and 8 a.m. to noon March 21. Please use alley doors.



Otterbein UMC Holds Special

Lenten Service And Men’s Breakfast

ATWOOD – Otterbein United Methodist Church, 306 E. Main St., Atwood, will hold a Lenten service March 22 at 6:30 p.m. To praise and worship God and THE Lord Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit.

The church will host John Wesley, the founder of Methodism. Retired pastor Burt Kite has been portraying the Rev. Wesley for many years and has some unique insights.

An offering will be taken up during this event for the purpose of funding needed ministries. One such project is Justin’s Place, a program that ministers to children dealing with grief over the loss of a loved one. The church will be collecting funds to help children go to church camp.

The second Saturday of each month at 7 a.m., the men of the church gather for a time of the three “F’s” – food, fellowship and fun. Rick, Tom and others come together to make sure that the men of the church have a hot meal to share as they take some time off from the cares of the world. There is a time of sharing in a devotional, too.

Warsaw Family Worship To Hold Breakfast

Warsaw Family Worship Center, 1250 Husky Trail, Warsaw, will have a country breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Breakfast includes biscuits and gravy, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, fried apples, pancakes, coffee, orange juice and milk. Claypool UMC To Hold Food Pantry

CLAYPOOL – Claypool United Methodist Church, 302 E. Section St., Claypool, will hold Sunday school at 9 a.m. with church services at 10:20 a.m.  Wednesday devotions will be held at 5 p.m.

Gospel Hill food pantry will be held at 10 a.m. Monday.  Easter card making will be held at 10 a.m. March 28 at the church. Register by March 22. Youth group/piano class starts April 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  Everyone is welcome.



Yoga Class Offered At Trinity UMC

Yoga class is offered Mondays at Trinity United Methodist, 832 E. Center St., Warsaw.  

Starting Monday, the mat class will be held at 10:15 a.m.  and chair class at 1 p.m. Anyone unable to use the back entrance parking which has stairs may enter off the west parking side.



Victory Rock Church To Have Breakfast

PIERCETON – An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. March 21 at Victory Rock Church, 6170 S. CR 500E, Pierceton. There will be a free-will donation.



Sacred?Heart To Offer Meal

A community meal will be offered in the gymnasium at Sacred Heart Church, 125 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The meal this month will feature beef tacos, chicken enchiladas, fixings bar, chips and salsa, Spanish rice, fresh fruit and a variety of desserts. This month’s dinner is provided and served by the Knee Time Parish Group, along with the church’s parishioners.  There is no charge for the meal. All in the community are welcome. Church Of The Brethren To Hold Event

NORTH MANCHESTER – "Can we talk? ... Conversations for Change through Story & Song" event will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Manchester Church of the Brethren, 1306 Beckley St., North Manchester.

Sponsored by South/Central Indiana District of the Church of the Brethren, "Can we talk?" is 90 minutes of story, song, laughter and moments of reflection around listening and conversation.

The show includes classic and new materials from Ted Swartz and Ken Medema.  

Medema worked as a music therapist until 1973, when he began a career as a performing and recording artist.  In 1985, he founded Brier Patch Music, an independent recording, publishing and performance-booking company. He is co-founder of Interlude Retreat Corporation. He has recorded over 40 albums and his latest is Nothing Like the Rain. More information at www.kenmedema.com.

Swartz is a writer and actor who has been mucking around in the worlds of the sacred and secular for over 20 years. Swartz is owner and artistic director of Ted and Company TheaterWorks, a professional touring company based in Harrisonburg, Va., the executive director of the Center for Art, Humor & Soul, and is the creator or co-creator of over a dozen plays.

Syracuse Church Of God To Host Perceptions-To-Reality Weekend

Syracuse – Syracuse Church of God, 104 E. Washington St., Syracuse, will host a Perceptions-to-Reality weekend 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 20-21. This free educational event will offer information and cultural insights into the issues impacting the Wawasee community. The public is invited to attend.

Seven guest speakers who serve the community in various capacities are scheduled to speak. On Friday, Syracuse Police Chief James Layne will speak at 6:30 p.m. followed by Syracuse Fire Chief Mickey Scott at 7 p.m. and Kosciusko County Sheriff Kyle Dukes at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday speakers will be Rick Patton, director of Enchanted Hill Bowen Center, at 6:30 p.m.; Steve Perek, Wawasee High School assistant principal, at 7 p.m.; Compass Director Kristen Steffen of the Wawasee-Syracuse Ministerial Association at 7:30 p.m.; and Phil Rich-Oest at 7:45 p.m. speaking about his experience with addiction.

Both evening sessions will conclude with a question-and-answer period followed by coffee, cookies and conversation. Childcare will also be provided.
