Fred and Nancy Bechtold Powell will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Thursday.

They were married March 12, 1955, at First Evangelical United Brethren Church,  Fort Wayne.

Fred served in the U.S. Air Force then returned to the family farm near Clunette.

Nancy was a full-time mom, farm support and did assorted agricultural-related jobs.  Both are retired.

They have three children: John (wife Louise) Powell; Julie (husband Toby) Popenfoose; and Becky (husband Wayne) Dye; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Kathleen N. Anderson-Takacs, 84, of Pierceton, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. Kathy was born on Aug. 14, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Darwin and Jane Gibson. On April 17, 2004, she married Bill Takacs in Gatlinburg, Tenn., who survives.

FOL To Host Pop-Up Book Sale
