An Etna Green woman was fired and jailed after allegedly letting her friends come into the gas station where she worked and take merchandise.

Chelsea Lynn West, 25, of 412 N. Walnut St., Etna Green, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:21 p.m. Saturday and faces a Class A misdemeanor charge for theft.

According to the police report, on Sept. 25, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office took a report that West – who was then an employee of the gas station in Etna Green – had allowed people she knew to come into the store and gather items that they wanted then leave without paying for them. The person making the report told police it was items of all kinds and that West would ring them up, but she would not take any money and that she at least did this on four separate occasions.

Court papers indicate West was fired from her job after what she was allegedly doing came to light.

West’s bond was set at $600. She’s due in Kosciusko Superior Court II at 1 p.m. March 16.
