Jane was born April 9, 1938, in Warsaw, to Chauncey and Margaret Towns Tucker.
Jane graduated from Claypool High School in 1956 as valedictorian of her class. She married Larry Jay Brubaker on June 8, 1957, in Claypool, who preceded her in death in 2014.
Jane loved her family, raising her children prior to beginning a 25-year career with Dave Carey Excavation. She was an active member of the Claypool United Methodist Church and served in many ways, especially known for her signature cranberry salad at the Thanksgiving church dinners. Jane and Larry made several memorable trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with their friends from Claypool.
Jane is survived by daughter, Lesa (Jim) Coplen, of Fort Wayne; sons, Matthew (Lori) Brubaker, of Warsaw; Mark (Beverly) Brubaker, of Claypool; sister, Jeanne Tucker, of North Manchester; sister-in-law, Elaine Tucker, of Orlando, Fla. In addition, she is survived by 11 grandchildren: Joel (Nikki) Brubaker, Aaron (Krystal) Brubaker, Nicole (Brandon) Rapp, Paige Sand, Neil Sand, Brad (Chelsea) Brubaker, Brandon McCombs, Brad Johnson, Mindy (Jacob) Brinkman, Jay (Anna Grace) Coplen and Jennifer (Justin) Peeper; and 12 great-grandchildren: Abbie, Nash, Audie, Lux, Axten, Zia, Anna Belle, Raegan, Dalton, Finley, Harper and Lynley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Arnold and Jan Tucker; and great-grandson, Kinser Brubaker.
Services and interment will be private with a celebration of life held at a later date at Claypool United Methodist.
All arrangements for the family have been entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
