Buddy Joe Miller, 85, of Winona Lake, and previously of Elkhart, passed peacefully from his earthly body straight into the presence of his heavenly father on Thursday, June 11, 2020. His smile and friendly conversation will be missed by his family and by his friends at Grace Village Retirement Community, where he also enjoyed calling Bingo and the Thursday Night Jam Sessions.

Buddy was born on Sept. 6, 1934, in Worthington, and was a graduate of Spencer High School, where he was the starting guard on the basketball team in 1952. Soon after graduation, he entered the United States Navy where he served from 1952-1955. While in the service, he came to know and accept his Lord and savior and became a new man. He attended Northside Baptist Church of Elkhart, where he was a song leader for some time and helped to start Calvary Baptist Church of Elkhart. Later, he attended chapel at Grace Village Retirement Community.

On June 30, 1956, he married Clara Jeanette Winders, though she preceded him in passing on Feb. 13, 2008.

They are survived by two sons: Randy (Tina) Miller and Christopher (Anna) Miller; five grandchildren: Michael (Karis), Justin, Stephen (Brittany), Valentina, Robert; and five great-grandchildren: Kiera, Kyleigh, Kohen, Harper and Sawyer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw. Services will be held at a later date.
