After the organizers announced their original plans, they encountered problems with the location. The event will now be taking place today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Winona Lake park in the grassy area between the tennis courts and the lake. The event is also now being hosted by OneWarsaw, in unity with Ofelia Rios and Maria Medina. Rios and Medina will not be present at today’s demonstration.
Rios and Medina are the organizers behind the May 30 and June 3 protests in downtown Warsaw. Today’s event is being called the “Justice for Floyd Allies United Demonstration.”
People of all races will be able to share stories and experiences, along with how to connect with Rios and Medina for future local events.
The event today will not be held in any way at the Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Warsaw. Nor were there ever any plans to hold the event inside of the church, as was originally reported by the organizers of the event.
