By Staff Report-

SOUTH BEND – The Northern Indiana Workforce Board will begin a gradual reopening of the WorkOne offices in North Central Indiana starting Monday.

WorkOne offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with varying days of operation. The Elkhart, South Bend and Warsaw offices will be open Monday through Friday; Plymouth office will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; and the Rochester office will be open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The reopening correlates to the governor’s phased plans for reopening in the Indiana economy. In order to maintain social distancing requirements, offices are limited to 25 people at a time, and individuals seeking assistance will be scheduled in one-hour increments.

To schedule an appointment, individuals must contact their local office. Kosciusko County’s office can be reached at 574-269-3050.

At this time, WorkOne services will be somewhat limited; however, appointments may be scheduled to obtain job search and re-employment help, including resume review, interviewing practice and more; use direct computer access to the Department of Workforce Development’s Unemployment Insurance Unit (DWD UI Unit) to file initial unemployment claims or submit weekly unemployment vouchers, receive telephonic assistance from DWD’s UI Unit or to fax documents to the DWD’s UI Unit.

Individuals who wish to avoid in-person gatherings may call for virtual assistance, and online workshops will also be available.

Local WorkOne offices are not able to resolve unemployment claim issues. The resolution of claim issues is handled through the DWD via www.unemployment.in.gov or by calling 800-891-6499. More information about WorkOne can be found at gotoworkone.com.
