Response To Todd Rokita’s Voter Fraud Claims

In a recent campaign stop in Kosciusko County, Republican Attorney General candidate Todd Rokita stated: “We were tired of people in Lake County and even as close as Elkhart, where cases were not being prosecuted, elections being stolen by people who cheated our system.”
Former Secretary of State Rokita did not provide a shred of evidence to back up his baseless claim that elections were being “stolen” in northern Indiana.
Now that’s not to say voter fraud hasn’t been documented in Indiana. There was one case this decade that resulted in a felony conviction. That person happened to be Mr. Rokita’s Republican successor at the Secretary of State’s office, Charlie White.
In 2010, while Mr. White was running for Indiana secretary of state, he moved outside the Fishers town limits. However, he lied about his residence in order to keep receiving his salary for serving on the town council. By lying about his address on his voter registration form, Mr. White committed voter fraud.

That’s right, the only person ever convicted of voter fraud in Indiana was a Republican officeholder who just happened to serve directly after Mr. Rokita. It’s curious as to why Mr. Rokita failed to mention this fact?
