Mikel ‘Mike’ Lew Greene

He was born April 21, 1951, in Wabash, to Norman L. and Madelyn R. Knoop Greene.
He married Patty Gushard on April 5, 1968, and were remarried Sept. 8, 2004. They were together for a total of 28 years. She survives.
Mike graduated from Manchester High School in 1969. He enjoyed going on cruise ships and has been to Greece, Italy and Mexico. Mike relished his time working and rebuilding cars and watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was a workaholic, especially when it came to working outside. He found any excuse he could to be outside in nature. He especially loved to fish. The most important aspect of life to Mike was his family. He loved making them laugh and loved each one of his children and grandchildren from the oldest to the youngest. In every grandchild, a piece of him can be seen.
He worked as a steel fabricator for Helgeson Steel Inc., Elkhart, retiring in 2013.
He is survived by son, Brian Greene, Elkhart; daughters: Bridget Greene, Fort Wayne; Pascha DuBois, Rochester; Gretchen Carter, Pierceton; Ashley (Nicholas) Palermo, Elkhart; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley St., North Manchester, with J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
The family has entrusted McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with final arrangements.
