I’m starting to get a little frustrated with the current rules dealing with COVID-19. People can riot, loot and burn both public and private property with impunity, yet I have to suit up like a heart surgeon to get a loaf of bread or box of nails. The whole thing is starting to smell more like politics than pandemic.

The Europeans have opened their schools while we debate the idea. The fact is that children in the 0-17 years age group are practically immune to this virus. The few that contracted it usually have underlying health issues. Now after a couple of months, Europeans report no increase in COVID-19 cases from school opening. So why do we struggle with this issue? Well this can be answered with two words: Teachers Union. The teachers union has said they would need $128 billion from the government (taxpayers), to make the schools safe enough for the students, and that’s a lot of hand sanitizer. The truth is this is just another ploy by the union to bail out their bloated pension funds, once again, off the backs of the taxpayers. They extort money from local school districts regularly by threatening to go on strike.

Dr. Robert Hariri, the CEO of Cellularity Corp., has stated that people from 5-24 years old are five times more likely to die from the flu than COVID-19. He goes on to say that on a list of 100 reasons a person aged between 5-24 years old would run a lethal risk of death among all lethal risks, COVID-19 ranks number 50. So why not open schools and, for that matter, professional sports.

Michael Jordan played one of his greatest games while suffering from the flu. He scored 63 points against the Boston Celtics and despite the fact that he had the flu, the Celtics knew he had the flu and all the fans knew he had the flu, the game went on. My point is that we live with the flu virus every year, we accept it as a risk of life. We now seem to know the effects of the COVID-19 virus, it is devastating to seniors especially with underlying conditions, but plays second fiddle to the flu on all other age groups. I believe the fear and ominous presence of the COVID-19 virus will continue until the election, but I intend to go on living my life. After all, the show must go on.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
