NORTH MANCHESTER – Thomas “Tom” Lee Simpson, 72, Silver Lake, died at 5:36 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in his residence.

He was born Aug. 26, 1947, in Wabash to Floyd and Martha Hiner Simpson.

He married Tamara “Tammy” McCullough on June 15, 1985. She survives.

He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years, retiring in 2011. Besides working as an over-the-road truck driver, Tom also worked at the Silver Lake Veterinary Clinic, taking care of animals that were in the kennels. He did this because of his deep love and respect for animals. Tom enjoyed woodworking, watching NASCAR, World of Outlaws racing, but most of all he loved playing Santa Claus every single Christmas. He was a man that would do anything for his family and friends.

He attended Christian Heritage Church in Wabash.

He is survived by his wife; sons: Thomas (Desa) Simpson II, Shane Simpson, Das Simpson; daughters: Marie Simpson, Tassie (David) Presson; brothers: Tim (Carol) Kersey, Mike Kersey, Steve Simpson; sister, Christine (Richard Lynch) Martin.

He was preceded by his parents; son, Brent C. Simpson, who passed away in 2006; and sister, Linda Brainard, who passed away in 1967.

No services will be held.

The family has entrusted McKee Mortuary with final arrangements.
