Donald Elliott Bailey, of Warsaw, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 5:05 p.m. at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City at the age of 91.

He was born on April 19, 1929, in Goshen, to Pearl Goppert Bailey and Ralph Bailey. On June 25, 1949, he was married to Barbara Joan Valentine Bailey. They shared 62 years of marriage together before she passed away on March 25, 2012.

Donald was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1947 graduate of Pierceton High School, Pierceton. He retired in 1992 as the manager from North Central Farm Bureau Co-op. He lived a long life and will be remembered as a hard worker who always cared for his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Carolyn Rule, Warsaw; three sons: Rex (Helen) Bailey, Talbott, Tenn.; Roger Bailey, Warsaw; and Mark (Linda) Bailey, Pierceton.  Also surviving are three grandchildren: Angy (Dave) Tabb, Warsaw; Anita (Troy) Johnson, Warsaw; Rich (Brandi) Wine, Chapel Hill, Tenn.; former grandson-in-law: Michael Groves, Warsaw; six great-grandchildren: Tyler (Kelli Rosales) Wine, Franklin, Tenn.; Kortney Groves, Fort Wayne; Brianne (Damion) Blackburn, Ashton Groves and Piper Johnson, all of Warsaw;  Shelbi Wine, Chapel Hill, Tenn.; two-great-great-grandsons: Zander and Linkyn Blackburn, Warsaw; and his brother, Ralph (Myrna) Bailey, Columbia City.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, three sisters and his son-in-law, Dick Rule.

There will be a celebration of Donald’s life at a later date.  Private family burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
