AKRON – Norma E. Weaver, 91, of rural Rochester, passed at 9:38 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020, on the family farm surrounded by her family.

Norma was born on Nov. 8, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Lloyd and Beulah Ruff Hoover. She married Lloyd K. Weaver on Oct. 6, 1946, in Argos. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2004.

Norma was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School in 1943. She was a homemaker, and church was a big part of her life. She enjoyed traveling, and her family was her life. She was known as an excellent seamstress and cook. In her later years, she was a resident of Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester.

Survivors include four daughters: Diane Weaver-Gady, of Rochester; Dana and husband Tom Finlan, of Indianapolis; Darla and husband Randy Shafer, of Warsaw; and Danielle and husband Sam King, of Indianapolis; five sons: Rick and wife Pat Weaver, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Ken and wife Sue Weaver, of Fort Wayne; Jim and wife Cindy Weaver, of Rochester; Tom and wife Jill Weaver, of Rochester; and Tim and wife Lana Weaver, of Akron; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and her foreign exchange daughter, Danielle VanHees Roelen, of the Netherlands.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd; and two sisters, Phyllis Jeanne Newcomb and Barbara Winenger.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Jeff Sumner officiating. Burial will follow in the Athens Cemetery. For the health of all in attendance, we encourage the public to wear masks. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
