Robert Braxton King, 35, of 215 E. Himes St., North Webster, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:48 a.m. Thursday and faces a Level 5 felony burglary charge and a Class A misdemeanor theft charge.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Dec. 13 in Kosciusko Superior Court III, on Nov. 30 Kosciusko County Sheriff deputies responded to Pizza King in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, police spoke with two employees who said $372 in a bank bag was missing. The employees told police the store had been closed at 10:40 p.m. the night before, and that the security camera had been shut off at 11:30 p.m. and was still off when employees entered the building the next morning. They also reported there was no sign of forced entry, court papers state.
Police then went to a residence where King had been staying and asked him about the money. Court papers state that the employees told police King has been a suspect in missing bank deposits while he’s been an employee there.
King denied having the money, but did have an active warrant out for his arrest, so he was taken to jail. The owner of the home King was staying at allowed police to search the home, according to the affidavit, and police located a jacket in the bedroom King was staying in. In the pocket of the jacket, according to court documents, police located a bank bag labeled “Lakeview Pizza King Bag #12.”
King’s bond was set at $11,000, and arresting papers list him as unemployed.
