Shelby Learned, 28, of 3531 W. Ind. 14, Silver Lake, appeared in front of Kosciusko Superior Court III Judge Joe Sutton Wednesday and was sentenced to 30 months in the Indiana Department of Corrections for a Level 6 felony conviction for making a false sales document.
Four other charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. Sutton suspended her sentence to formal probation.
Learned’s $750 cash bond she posted for the case was applied to the $415.34 she owed Walmart in restitution.
In December 2018 and January 2019, Learned was caught using the self-checkouts at Walmart and ringing items using barcodes from less-expensive merchandise.
Learned would then return the goods to Walmart for a store credit gift card.
